We are looking for volunteers to help the Market run smoothly! Sign up for a Thursday slot in the 1:30-7:30pm range.

Tasks Include:
-set up and break down
-welcoming guests & answering questions
-counting guest attendance
-taking photos
-packing produce bags for our senior produce program

We also need drivers for our senior produce program! If you have a car or cargo bike and availability on Thursdays July-August, help us deliver fresh market produce to your local senior community.

Medford Farmers Market Board Info


The Medford Farmers Market Board of Directors consists of 5-9 Medford citizens. Our objective each year is to fulfill the Market’s mission of strengthening our diverse community of Medford, Massachusetts, through access to fresh, healthy, and local food direct from local farmers & producers.


We are looking for members who believe in the importance of strengthening our community through a vibrant farmers market culture. We eagerly embrace help with fundraising, marketing, special events, finding and coordinating performers, staying active on other social media platforms, coordinating volunteers, creating and delivering educational programming, researching sustainability, facilitating partnerships and sponsorships, accounting, and performing community outreach.

We meet monthly for 1.5 hours, throughout the year to plan for our season and execute effectively, with our busiest months in May and June. We contribute as we’re able to setup, cleanup and supporting staff and volunteers during the weekly Thursday markets from June-October, our special Holiday Harvest Market in November, and Winter Market Tuesdays January-April.

Major Board Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Attend monthly board meetings to review tasks, plan, and support each market
    (historically it’s been held on the second Tuesday)
  • Attend weekly MFM markets as able (at least 50% of summer markets)
  • Join one or two of the committees which meet outside of the market times
    -Vendor committee
    -Events committee
    -Community Liaison committee
    -Fundraising committee
    -Marketing and Promotion committee
    -Programs committee
  • Help with special events, marketing, communication, and promotion
  • Become familiar with MFM bylaws, finances, budgets, and resource needs
  • Become familiar with local community concerns and needs that the MFM helps to
    address, ie. food insecurity
