SarahMANAGER’S MESSAGE: CHEERS TO SUMMER!

Coastal Vineyards has been coming to the market for some time, and if you haven’t had a chance to try their wines, I highly recommend them! Good local wines are hard to come by (the climate here isn’t exactly ideal), but Coastal does an incredible job down on the South Shore. I’ve tried quite a few of their varieties and was particularly impressed by the Pinot Gris, since dry white wines have been my go-to during the long heat wave of this summer. The Rosie is also remarkable: a crisp refreshing rosé that’s perfect for taking the edge off during these toasty evenings.

Dave also mentioned that he’ll be bringing some new wines to the market in September/October, so make sure to stop by and check them out! It’s always fun to do a little tasting at the market then take home a bottle to go with your beef and veggies. Or you can grab some pasta from Deano’s and have dinner ready in 10 minutes. Wine always goes with pasta! 😉

Our Senior Farm Share is now open to ALL Medford seniors.
• Medford residents ages 60+ are eligible
• Advance registration is required; 40 shares available each week
• To register, call Syrah at the Board of Health: 781-393-2560
• Pickup is 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays thru 10/18 at 121 Riverside Ave.
• $5/week for low-income Medford seniors; $15/week all others

And don’t forget: The market matches up to $20 for all EBT/SNAP shoppers! The Medford Farmers Market runs 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays through October 13, 2016, at One City Hall Mall, behind City Hall, in Medford, Mass.
