Medford Winter Farmers Market January 23, 2013
Brrrrrr…., it may be cold outside but the market is indoors and we are toasty warm.  On a cold day, what better way to warm up than with a hot bowl of soup.
Our farmers are fully stocked with all of the root vegetables needed to make a hearty stew.  Stillman’s At the Turkey Farm has the best cuts of all natural beef and poultry to simmer into a robust and flavorful consommé.  Or pick up some fresh seafood from C & C Lobsters and Fish and make your favorite fish chowder or lobster bisque.  If you are short on cooking time, not to worry asNonna Soup has a variety of delicious homemade soups that will keep you warm.  Soup, soup, soup – we’ve got it covered at the Medford Winter Farmers Market!

See you Thursday!

Fruitfully yours,

This week’s community table
This winter, the Market is sponsoring a free table for various community organizations each week at the market.
This week, we have Dare Family Services.  You can become a foster parent and make a difference in the life of a child. Children in your community are in need of stable, loving homes. Dare Family Services is seeking caring
individuals and families to join our foster care team. They provide training, on-going support
and $1500/month tax-free.  You can learn more on their web site

Dare Family Services is a private, non-profit agency that provides therapeutic foster homes for children in need. As partners with the Department of Children and Families, they seek
families for children who have been removed from their homes. Dare provides Intensive Foster Care to children of all ages and backgrounds.

We also have the Boys & Girls Club.

Their mission is to inspire and enable youth to be responsible, caring and productive citizens.  Check out their website for more information.

This week’s market run down and entertainment
There are so many great things going on at the market this week, I don’t know where to begin!  We have On The Edge Knife Sharpening joining us this week and next.  Bring your dull knives, scissors and garden sheers down to get them sharpened!

And Janna Bee’s is now serving hot coffee at the market to go with their delicious desserts!

As always, please remember to stop by the manager’s table for more information on our frequent shopper program and pick up your card.

This week, we welcome back  Miranda Aisling to the market, she will be performing @ 3:30-5PM.
Miranda is an interdisciplinary artist whose main art forms are abstract oil paintings, folk songs, and young adult fiction novels. She has been coming to tell stories and play guitar at the market for a while now and always enjoys it. Check out her work on her web site  and make sure to say hello if you see her while she’s playing at the market!

Also, if you’d like to sing, dance, lead an activity at our market, please send an us an email
