After two incredible years located in the Whole Foods Market parking lot, the Medford Farmers Market will be moving back to Medford Square for its 2012 season, beginning June 7 and continuing every Thursday through October, 3 to 7 PM.
The decision to move the Market was based on our January 2012 survey, where overwhelmingly our customers indicated the desire for the market to be closer to public transit and nearer to green space. The location in Medford Square will be accessible to bus lines 94, 95, 96, 101, 134 and express bus 326. While we’re sad to be moving away from Whole Foods Market, whose partnership has been tremendous since the inception of the market, we believe the new location will open up the Medford Farmers Market, and its bounty of locally grown goods, to even more Medford residents.
Last year the Market saw exponential growth in foot traffic, thanks to the incredible support from our patrons, as well as City Hall and Mayor McGlynn. We boasted 18 vendors each week and maintained a strong focus on local businesses and produce. We will continue that same momentum in 2012, working with local farms to provide the freshest produce available and also striving to expand the Market’s offerings to meats, cheeses, wine, baked goods, and more.
As we continue to grow the market, we’re always looking for volunteers to work with us in vendor relations, marketing, design, event planning and more. If interested, please write to medfordfarmersmarket@gmail.com, or call Susan Fairchild at 781-874-9049 and tell us how you’d like to be involved.
The success of the market thus far would not have been possible without the incredible support from our city, our patrons and our benefactors. We heartily thank each of you and look forward to seeing you at Medford Farmers Market’s opening day, June 7.
Fruitfully,
Medford Farmers Market Board of Directors:

I can't wait!!! The Music for the Market event is awesome! I would pay more than that just to see the music. The food is great too!
Thank you for your enthusiasm! We have some new music this year as well as the generously donated delicious food. Hope to see you there!
Please note that the last comment was not from Celine Kelly, but rather from Susan Fairchild. Can't figure out how that happened!
