If you missed it the last two weeks, this is your third and final chance to receive a free chair massage from local bodyworker Don Cox.  Don is an Asian Bodywork therapist specializing in shiatsu, acupressure and reiki, and will have his chair at the market from 3 to 5pm.

This week we’d like to welcome the Ice Cream Sandwich Band!  Jesse Kurn, ErinNoland, and Stephanie Samborowski make up the vocal stylings and ukulele harmonies otherwise known as the Ice Cream Sandwich Band.  The three friends met while studying music therapy and mental health counseling at Lesley University and quickly discovered their common passion for ukulele. ICSB got their name from a sunny afternoon, as the uke trio sat in a parking lot and indulged in “the BEST ice cream sandwiches EVER.”  Come check out this cutely titled band from 5 to 7 pm.  Better yet, eat a CB Scoops Ice Cream Sandwich from Culinary Cruisers while listening to the band of the same name!

 Community Housing and Medford Family Network.

Medford Community Housing is a non-profit Community Development Corporation dedicated to the promotion of affordable housing in Medford.  Stop by to find out about ways that you can get involved, or find out about the state of affordable housing in the City of Medford.

The Medford Family Network is a family support and parenting education program that is available to every child and caregiver who lives or works in Medford with at least one child prenatal through age seven.  They’ve got lots of fun activities this summer for kids and families.  Stop by to find out how to keep your kids busy and entertained!

I’d like to welcome back Buttergirl Baking Co, who has been gone for the past few weeks and returns this week with her delicious baked goods. This week’s market has 17 vendors.  You can expect to find a wealth of summer produce including tomatoes, summer squash, eggplant, peppers, and then some of your standard spring faire: lettuce, kale, radishes, carrots, beets. July is national blueberry month! Let’s celebrate by buying fresh blueberries from the market and making a delicious blueberry pie!

3/4 cup white sugar

3 tablespoons cornstarch

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

4 cups fresh blueberries

1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

1 tablespoon butter

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon, and sprinkle over blueberries.

Line pie dish with one pie crust. Pour berry mixture into the crust, and dot with butter. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2 – 3/4 inch wide strips, and make lattice top. Crimp and flute edges.

Bake pie on lower shelf of oven for about 50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
